<ARTIST NOTE> Dr. Hwang Cheeseok
Hwang Cheeseok (BON K: KACAF USA Subcommittee Chairperson of Royal Cultural Arts). Dr. Hwang is Invited Professor at Seoul Women’s University, Director of the Korea Royal Court Culture and Arts Center. She is a court record painter who newly draws the Joseon Dynasty Uigwe banchado published by Hanseongbu, which is the essence of World Record Heritage (The Memory of the World, MOW)
He began drawing Banchado while praying for the return of the beautiful Uigwe that had been taken away from France and Japan. She systematically drew banchado of five rites (Gilrye, Garye, Gunrye, Hungrye, and Binrye), which are important national events, and made them known domestically and international
