It has been an honor to serve you this past year in Maryland House of Delegates. I serve on the House Appropriations Committee which is the budget committee for the House of Delegates, and I thank you for your feedback in letting me know how funding for schools, roads, hospitals, programs for senior citizens, mental health resources, public safety, and domestic violence prevention is important in our community. I also serve on the Public Safety Subcommittee which made important decisions on agencies that worked with our community during and after the riots in Baltimore City.
As a state legislator, my hope is to make a positive difference in the State of Maryland. During this past year, thank you for the teamwork in introducing legislation to honor victims of human trafficking and sexual slavery during World War II. The legislation received international attention, and I thank you for making the mainstream community aware of the issue. I look forward to working with you in the upcoming year on legislation of importance for Korean-Americans.
