The Korean American Cultural Arts Foundation presents its 7th Annual Korean Art and Soul. This unique celebration of artists from the Republic of Korea is designed to further the foundation’s mission of creating strong bonds between Korean-Americans and the communities where they live through exposure to treasured Korean culture and art.
The 2012 Korean Art and Soul will include a pageant of Chosun (Joseon) Dynasty royal costumes as well as a showing of modern hanbok dress, all designed by Master Soo Dong Lee, master costume researcher and designer. Classical Korean dances will be performed byMaster Park Jai Hee, dance professor at Cheongju University, and Master Kook Soo Ho, director of the Didim Dance Company. Seo Jin Sil, a member of the AUX Korean World Music Band, will perform a pansori–a traditional Korean folk song, and AUX will perform creative and modern interpretations of traditional Korean music and selections from other cultures.
